All I can say is I do think the accused should be heard, their side not as important as evidence or the victims but important. I believe we need to figure out what was going through their heads to determine how sick they are. I am a rape victim (once as a child by a trusted family member and my custodial guardian refused to help me or file report) and another time at an odd party that I was drinking at and left my drink unattended the second time was by two male “friends” that took advantage of me and drugged my drink, it took me 48 hrs to even start to remember (although I woke up knowing something was off) I didn’t get into the police until after a shower but they took a statement and sent me to the hospital to get tested, the test showed I had contracted an std from the event, there were bruises on my wrists and other areas and my blood had Rohypnol in it. Let me just say I had to move states because the cops refused to do anything without a witness and all of my friends (mutual friends with my attackers) didn’t believe me and kept bringing my attackers around me and to my home, I was scared for my life. To this day if I ever see any of these monsters again I would surely panic and regress. Sometimes there’s nothing that gets done no matter who you tell and yes of course these monsters all denied the attacks. It’s hard being a victim of sexual abuse of any sort male or female and no as the victim you don’t want to hear the attacker say a thing you don’t want them feeling anything good ever again weather that’s being able to explain their side or the possible validation. But it is in the interest of learning more about what they thought happened no matter how wrong that may be. Just my insight, and no I know the responses I may get so I will not reply to anyone.
