1. Going to Eurovision on your own is totally normal.
2. We're secretly rooting for the country we most want to visit.
3. People actually do academic studies about Eurovision.
4. Austria's British ambassador is backing Electro Velvet.
"I think we've got a good chance. I think theirs the only song like it in the competition. I'm not sure everyone would agree with me on the merits of it, but I think it's good to be different. Standing out and catching people's attention is part of the game in Eurovision. An awful lot of the other songs sound identical." — Susan
5. But the rest of Britain isn't convinced.
6. In fact, everyone agrees that Sweden will probably win.
7. Even though we wouldn't want to go to Russia, we wouldn't resent them if they won.
"Russia have a great song, I just wish they would follow its sentiment. There are huge political problems there, obviously, but it's not Polina's fault. She's an incredible singer. But because of the politics, I wouldn't go. If they do win, they deserve it. If we just base it on the song and forget about everything. But I won't go." — Teresa
8. That said, we'd worry about the safety of fans.
9. And lots of us don't think they could win.
"The music isn't bad. But, from a political point of view, I don't think they could win. I think Conchita winning last year was a statement from Europe to Russia. I don't know if, only a year later, Russia could really win." — Tobias
10. But maybe it would help things if they did win.
11. We put a LOT of effort into our costumes.
"I got my outfit specially made last year from a company in Brighton that makes these dresses out of whatever material you like. It's a case of looking around on the Internet, finding anything with the Union Jack on it and buying it." — Fiona, and Sylvia
12. It's really embarrassing when your country gets nul points.
13. We're all really excited that Australia are here.
14. And the Aussies can't quite believe it themselves.
15. In fact, some of them travelled for 30 hours to be here.
16. But even if they weren't being represented, Eurovision would be full of Aussie fans.
17. But no one thinks this is the last we'll see of Australia.
"The interesting thing will be what happens after this year. Australia were only meant to take part once but they're here now. They'll hang on. I don't think this is the last we'll see of them." — Sylvia, and Fiona
18. Lots of us have Eurovision soul mates.
19. Which means we tend to come with the same friend every year.
"We met at university back in the '80s, so we've known each other fom over 30 years. I've always been a bit addicted and I always used to have to watch it on a Saturday night. Then Fiona started to watch it with me. Once we found the fan club, and once we found the fan club, we realised we could get here. We've been to 7 or 8 now." — Sylvia
20. And we'll never forget our first time.
21. Eurovision actually makes us feel better about the state of Europe.
"The UK is so depressing at the moment. I just wake up feeling depressed about our government. But when you come here, you can be really silly for a week. And I really think, when we're talking about the EU and us pulling out, it's crazy. When you come to Eurovision and you are part of something so big, you realise they're deluded." — Jude
