There is still a long way to go when it comes to the representation of gay and bisexual women on television, but 2014 was certainly a wild ride.
I mean, it's not like you just watch television shows for their lesbian content — right?
Riiiight. Buckle up. Let's review the highlights from this year:
1. You did a whiplash-inducing double-take when Gotham came into your life.

2. You had to take a few deep breaths and not trash your television when the one reason you ever watched Chicago Fire...
...was ripped from your life.
3. You had this exact same look on your face when you watched that cringe-worthy scene during the premiere of Girls with Danielle Brooks. Taystee, we forgive you.
4. It was during those hard times you were thankful to have Kate Mckinnon blessing SNL each week.
Don't lie: You hung up a "Dyke and Fats" poster on your wall as soon as physically possible.
5. You hung onto each and every word exchanged between Holly and Gail on Rookie Blue.
And you also spent a lot of time ogling Charlotte Sullivan's level of hair perfection.
6. Honestly, at first Jane the Virgin wasn't on your radar.
Luisa changed those circumstances pretty quickly.
7. Even if you didn't watch it, you definitely heard about Susan and Cheryl on Good Luck Charlie — the first gay couple on The Disney Channel.
8. And everyone felt some type of way about The View when Rosie O'Donnell came back.
9. When Gillian Anderson and Archie Panjabi kissed on The Fall? That was pretty much fan fiction coming to life.

10. Meanwhile, Stef and Lena continued to solidly define your future relationship goals on The Fosters.

11. Black Sails reminded you how completely badass pirates are. Lady pirates, that is.
12. When THIS happened on Grey's Anatomy, you did your best to pretend it didn't. Frankly, you still aren't quite ready to discuss it openly.

13. You controlled your euphoria when Melora Hardin (The Office) came back into your life as the smokin' hot Tammy on Transparent.
14. But you could not control your emotions when Carrie Brownstein turned out to portray a queer character as well.
15. You were more than pleasantly surprised to get double the Sarah Paulson fix during American Horror Story:

But the entire thing left you feeling a bit...disappointed.
