Africa is big. But did you realize exactly how big?

Turns out the standard Mercator projection of the world MASSIVELY underestimates Africa's true size.
Africa is so big it easily swallows the USA and Europe.
India and China have bigger populations than Africa's total of 1.1 billion, but Africa's 47 countries dwarf them for size.
The infographic was made by designer Kai Krause: "Africa is so mind-numbingly immense, that it exceeds the common assumptions by just about anyone I ever met."
"It contains the entirety of the USA, all of China, India, as well as Japan and pretty much all of Europe as well — all combined!"
Incidentally, the Mercator projection also suggests that Greenland is bigger than Australia: In reality, Australia is three times larger.
