Yeah, I can second in Victory Tony being a bastard. My buddy’s band was signed to Victory, never received money of any sort, broke up the band, and he then HIRED all new musicians to use the name. As a male musician, in a male dominated genre, I can definitely relate to what these women are saying. I know I’d feel the same way. That Mazzy Star record is great for many activities, mostly involving making out or exchanging fluids in other ways.

I dunno. I read the whole thing multiple times and just thought it sucked. I don’t really have an issue with who she wrote it for (or as she says, who inspired her to write it about multiple people and issues). I really just think it’s shoddy and irrelevant. I’m a Brandon and I swear the only reason people can spell it correctly is because most people call me Brando (childhood nickname that has followed me my entire life). According to studies done in my state since allowing concealed carry; accidental shootings, cases where the shooter has been proven to have overreacted, and people losing their license due to using their guns in criminal ways have all skyrocketed. I am still not completely against CCW laws, but they need to be better regulated and classes taught. Unfortunately, believe ing that means I’m seen as a “liberal gun-ER”. How dare anyone think responsibility is more important than the right to gun ownership.

I saw Greg Dulli twice last year with the Afghan Whigs and he has finally lost some weight and is back to Motown/Soul/Grunge God status. And I don’t care how straight I am, I would let Trent Reznor do whatever he wanted to me. I obsessed over everything about that man from the age of 12 until I was 25. If I could look that good…I would use it for evil….just.like.him.

It was years ago when they quit carrying the Converge, Snapcase, and At the Drive-In shirts I wanted, so I saw all of this coming. Kind of a bummer, but much like anything else these days. If it can make money, make it acceptable to everyone to some degree.

I am a vinyl lover, but I in no way think the sound is superior to lossless digital files. But some music begs to be listened to on a turntable. The way the sound is replicated gives it a warmth that digital files can’t give you. Most formats have their good and bad (except for cassette tapes, I hate those things so much!!!).
