It is my understanding that the colony featured in the video was already abandoned. Thus, no ants were harmed in the making of that sculpture. As for the others, I have no idea.
That awkward moment when I found out “legitimate rape” man, Todd Akin, is an alumni of my school. We can be proud of other graduates, just not him.
Oh wait, that was sarcasm wasn’t it? Woops.
I believe it was understood that both Alaska and Hawaii, not being part of the continental U.S., both border zero other U.S. states. So, I guess their inclusion in that map would be unnecessary.
My private, four-year college requires gym classes. Is that weird?
Question: Why do they use the spelling “Jahar” instead of “Dzhokhar”? (That may be closer to the pronunciation, but that’s still not how you spell his name.)
#4: SOMEONE cannot count!
I suppose that’s kind of the beauty of the book. It’s all about growing up, and the reader notices his own maturity when he reads and re-reads it.
When I read the Metamorphosis, I felt like it went over my head or something, because I just didn’t get anything from it. What was I supposed to get out of it?
I’ve read 18/23 for high school and college, and I can say the only one I did not enjoy was Heart of Darkness. I absolutely despised it for some reason, but I don’t know if I gave it a fair chance.
I DEFINITELY recommend Brave New World, Of Mice and Men, and To Kill a Mockingbird to anyone who’s never read them.
Not on the list, but similar to Brave New World: Ishmael, by Daniel Quinn. Also, the author wasn’t implying that these books were not assigned, but merely that as a student, one was unwilling to read them and therefore did not.
Same lesbian couple in #1 and #10 (on the right)?
Walle is a beagle/boxer mix, last I’d heard.
In the first picture, doesn’t he look like Bradley Cooper?
If you notice, the story was about the perpetrator turning himself in. The mother, at that time, should not have been “grieving,” as others have suggested. In fact, she should be relatively happy that justice will be served.
Of course, everybody hates the prying manner of a local reporter, and I believe it is quite rude, but the reporter’s actions were not insensitive, since the question she asked should have produced a positive response in the mother. Thus, the mother’s retaliation was unjustified.
I look forward to seeing how it is handled on tonight’s news.
You forgot these…
