Movie Buzz
A terrible sex scene in the Watchmen movie has people talking.
Zach Snyder, visionary director, made an unintentionally hilarious and awkward sex scene in the middle of the movie, weirdly set to Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah. I'm just glad I'm not alone in my disdain, because I really have so little else left to live for at this point.

I didnt think it was offensive more than i thought it was unnessisary. Just before this one we saw them doin it on the couch. I get it, it could've been shortened.
The blue penis was more an issue for me, how many times do we have to see it, to get the idea that he loosing touch with humans ? I get it.
Overall I think it was the combination of both the sex scenes and Dr. Naked-Manhatten that made it feel forced. The majority of the sex and the “mini-manhatten” was just unnessisary.
“Awkward” was the couch scene. the scene in the owl ship was more about the release and getting it right. BLARING Hallelujah to mad humping however made it more surreal than anything else. It was an odd choice. I keep wondering if the rights to “you're my thrill” were unavailable.
okay seriously…everyone berating the sex scene is, say it with me…”Overreacting.”For those who think it's too trashy…go watch some hardcore porn and grow a pair, it's basically G-Rated.For those who are labelling it 'terrible'…it's clear you haven't seen too many films. For those who thought it was funny or akward…it was SUPPOSED to be funny and akward. So congrats you and Snyder were actually on the same page. And for those commenting on the film at all without reading the book…you're not in any position to be talking about it at all. So either shut up indefinately, or read the book and THEN you can talk.
How may movies have bad scenes - this one is so bad that it rightfully deserves derision. those that do not see it have something wrong with their ability to make judgements - i consider it a serious flaw. disagree? prove me wrong, how do you make your judgements? do you have a system of some kind?
There was nothing wrong with the sex scene in that movie. Those who were offended, you probably didn't expect to see it in the movie. Did you forget the film is rated-R.

guhhhhhhhhhhhh the entire point of it was to be awkward. it was a close match frame for frame to the graphic novel and the song choice, I feel at least, was played for laughs.
