OK, so he's not exactly Canadian, but here are some reasons why he might as well be.
1. I mean, he has a pretty intimate relationship with the nation.

It's important to note that he exhibits all the traits of a Canadian, by being the nicest and kindest person.

4. Or when he played Cupid and helped a man propose to his girlfriend who is battling brain cancer during his concert in Saskatoon.
