Roast beef is best served rare. Beef goes well with wasabi, soy sauce and rice. So why not? Done right, roast beef sushi could be a WIN.

I was at a food court in Edmonton, Alberta and ordered a Sushi plate. There were multiple varieties, including one with Roast Beef. They called it the “Alberta Roll”, because literally everything here needs cow in it.  So I don't know if what you have there was unintentional… but I would definitely still call beef in sushi a “mistake”.

If that was rice straight out of the rice cooker and slow-roasted, freshly sliced roast beef and it was served on a plate with some eel sauce drizzled on it, don't tell me you wouldn't want to try it.
