Woman Gets A New Pet After Quail Egg Bought In Waitrose Hatches

No one likes overdone eggs but this is ridiculous.

Mandy Clayton wanted some quail eggs for a salad as she was having a BBQ, so she headed to her local Waitrose to stock up.

And lo and behold, one of them hatched.

The 49-year-old swimming teacher revealed the bird had been named Rose, after the supermarket where it was bought.

“My 11-year-old daughter enjoys playing with her. Rose is happy running around on the floor at times,” she added.

Clayton has since gone out and bought four more live quails so Rose has some company, along with her nine chickens.

“We’ve got a tiny little flock of them now, which is great. It just goes to show how fresh the eggs were, really,” she added.
