I am a real estate agent in Oshkosh, WI and our surrounding communities of Neenah, Menasha, Appleton, Omro, Winneconne, Berlin and Ripon.
I have been a Broker Associate since February of 2008. I am also a Accredited Buyer's Representative, Certified Residential Specialist, Certified Home Marketing Specialist, Electronic Professional, Graduate Real Estate Institute and Green Realtor®.
My specialties in real estate are historic/older homes, building conversions, green building and retrofitting, academic community, water front, 1st time buyers, and specialized marketing.
Prior to joining real estate I was a political consultant/staff member for 25 years. I worked all over the country and every level of our political world. I was lucky for work for some great people and whether they were running for President or State Representative, I was proud to have campaigned with them.
I moved to the corporate side of political communication where I used my expertise on NIMBY issues. This entailed many months of being away from home at very long stretches. The pace and travel was exhausting. As I got older the fun petered out.
When I returned home I searched for a place to use my passion and talents. Historic structures had always fascinated me and were a hobby. In looking for potential buildings/homes to rehab I met many agents who have now become close friends. It was their encouragement that convinced me to join their ranks. I have loved this work and my clients who make every day a new adventure.
I grew up in the suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia. My brother and I were raised by our mom who was in television, both in front and behind the camera. I seemed destined to follow in her footsteps and worked in the business from the age of 3 until I went to college. I worked on my first campaign as a staffer for a gubernatorial candidate in 1982. By 1983 I was on the Presidential trail as a "road warrior." I took the down periods off (this was back when there was one) to get my degree.
I moved to D.C. in 1988 for graduate school and to continue my political work. There I was exposed to lobbying which I did for a short while. In 1990 my new husband and I moved to Austin, Texas. In 1992 was recruited to move to London for a gig advising a Sunday magazine on American presidential politics. I returned to the states when a friend of mine asked me to run her campaign in a special election for the Texas legislature. Working in that interesting body taught me a lot of lessons that continue to color much of my political behaviors today.
My husband and I moved to Oshkosh, WI in 1994 when he joined the faculty of the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh. My political work continued throughout the country and at home until I retired from the road and joined the real estate profession.
