Why doesn’t buzzfeed every feel the need to give name credits to the photographers?

My Swiss girlfriend says that the voice actor is barely understandable, not saying many actual words (mostly sounds), speaking with a Bern accent, and saying something about ‘spraying on your ass.’ She compares it to the Muppet Swedish chef who isn’t actually saying anything Swedish but making Swedish-like sounds.

Wasn’t that observation one of the central ideas of the old book, “The Naked Ape” — that human breasts evolved as a sexual signal of available buttocks?

This brief article illustrates how “race” is a cultural construction. First, Caucasian is the privileged default, as the exemplars are “half Chinese” and “half African-American” without explanation as to what the other half is — presumably Caucasian or “white.” Second, as noted by others, some of the listed ‘races’ are actually linguistic or political groups rather than biological/ethnic groups. For example, why so many “half Arab”s and no “half Israeli”? And finally, listing someone as “half Cuban” means as much about their race as saying that someone is “half American” or “half Brazillian.” A wonderful exhibition of cultural expectations about race.
