Great to see people who aren't scared to death to not follow the liberal/democrat/socialist way of Hollyweird.

Meh, these lists are always kind of tricky. People get lumped into one group or another when they might not technically be whole hog for the ideals of that party. I bet a number of people on both lists would beg to differ at one time or another. That being said, there sure a lot of well known pricks and bitches in the list of republicans Of course Robert Duvall could come out as a Santanist and I would still think he's great.

Funny how most of these people have either been divorced at least once, been to jail at least once, had a face-lift at least once, filed for bankruptcy at least once, or all of the above.

There are only two aspects of Hollywood that aren't totally revolting: 1) it's liberal 2) it makes some pretty awesome movies. The fact that most celebrities lean left and that many of them are progressive activists are some of the only redeeming characteristics that they possess.  Being conservative is one of the most common ways that stars make me loose whatever respect I had for them - although “being a Scientologist” is obviously still number one by a long shot.

If you think about it, they all have something in common. They all resent the very people that put money in their pocket. They see them as dumb and weak. That's the only was they can justify spewing the crap product they produce. They all suck as artists. Not one of them is a true artist. They are entertainers, and some are good at entertaining. At the same time, they are parasites. They take and don't give back at all.

A person is more than just the sum of one part. So there are people here that may be decent folks and vary in reason for their opinion [right or wrong or identical for many]. LL performed. Your vote is only as good as the next one you make anyway!
People are people at the end of the day. One of my best friends is a Republican. Our friendship is not defined by our religious ideology or political ideology. We are all human. Will I give up discussing it with him? no. But he also knows I don't lock step support anyone and consider my self a progressive.

So nice to know these brave Conservatives who are subject to Hollywood's Liberal/Progressive prejudice.

Some of these shocked me.

Just because a person is registered or affiliated with one party or the another does not mean they VOTE that way (if they vote at all). That being said, no one party is completely perfect or completely wrong in its doings and beliefs.  I think the point of the article is that political affiliation is not always consistent with a celebrity's “persona” and that can sometimes be a surprise.

Jessica Simpson is a registered Republican and also a registered moron.

In fairness, being a Republican is not the same as being a right-wing conservative or a tea bagger. Sens. Susan Collins, Olympia Snowe and John McCain are all Republicans. There is a lot of overlap of intelligent, thoughtful, educated people with good principles in the middle. Not everyone involved in politics is a mouth-frothing partisan.

The only one I find even remotely surprising is Meatloaf.
