Other than your everlasting sense of guilt.
1. You had class with the same 20 kids for nearly a decade.
2. You wore the same damn clothes every day…
…until you developed a slight allergy to all things plaid.
3. You were trained to think tucking in your shirt is more important than math.
5. You have had to dress as an angel at some point in your life.
6. The name of this school doesn’t creep you out as much as it should.
7. You’ve never been hit by a ruler, but you’re still wary of nuns.
8. You’re pretty unfazed when threatened with eternal damnation.
9. You’ve been frequently reminded how much better Jesus is than you.
12. You only learned about one kind of sexual orientation.
14. But “Kindergarten Cop” taught you all you needed to know.
15. You’re still not 100% sure about the difference between outer space and the female anatomy.
16. You never found out the answers to these questions.
17. You think “Superstar” hits a little too close to home.
18. You know that dating is STRICTLY for those intent on marriage.
19. So it took a while to adjust to college.
23. You may even still complain about it pretty often.
24. But you probably still have those same friends from kindergarten.

pattyr5 2 months agoI went to a Catholic high school, all girls, and it was just what I needed at the time. No boys around to distract us or tell us that they were smarter, better, etc., so we could shine like the stars we were. Also, no gang problems in school- one of the reasons my parents sent me there was to avoid the gang problems in my local public school, which was also academically at the bottom. I didn’t have a lot of fun in school, but I sure got a great education. I had fun on the weekends, in my neighborhood, with my friends. We all went to different schools together. LOL

meribk 3 months agoThe Catholic school kids that I knew of were so much worse than the rest of us who went to public school. They sold drugs, went drinking on the weekends, and were sleeping around in 10th grade! Glad I went to public school and was able to grow up without others ideals being shoved in my face all the time. I am a free thinker and don’t feel the need to conform for the sake of conforming. Peace and love everyone.

leighannq 3 months agoI went to catholic school k-12, and my highschool years were spent at an all girl school. I relate with all the positive things in this article, but all the negatives - i really dont! my father told me its because both of my schools were run by nuns. apparently nuns are pretty progressive. I never heard any of this negative stuff - the only thing i was taught was to love everyone and treat everyone how you want to be treated. And aside from 1 or two asses, thats exactly what I saw everyday for 13 years. :)

healthypunk 4 months agoSince my catholic high school was all girls, we were really progressive. Never had sex-Ed, though. And our skirts were measured (no higher than 4 in above the knee!) practically daily. Damn good education though.

That and the weird one-off sex ed class in grade six where the teacher left me believing that when puberty set in and I started developing breasts I was going to be attacked and cut into pieces by a nutcase in a park

jennyvank 4 months agoWell I didn’t go to Catholic school, but I did go to a religious private school…we didn’t wear uniforms (not officially though, but if you weren’t wearing Abercrombie or American Eagle you weren’t worth the time of day), but our sex-ed class was pretty much like that…”if you have premarital sex you will get pregnant/get a girl pregnant, get [insert STD of your choice here], and your life will be over”…

michaelm127 4 months agoThis is funny but not entirely accurate. I wish I could afford to send my kids to catholic school. So many great memories and lessons that have stuck with me. It is common to hear people “driven away” from the catholic faith because of their catholic school experience. When truth is revealed to us, we have the choice to accept it or reject it. A negative experience is unfortunate but one persons actions does not take away from the many truths of the Church.

Lillithdv8 4 months ago- My nuns and school uniform are exaclty like the ones on pic 7 !!!!
- The nun assigned to our class would measure the length of our skirt every Monday (with a ruler) and once during the week completely at random.
- I had a class called life’s orientation (supposedly sex-ed) taught by a 67 year old nun. Once in 8th grade, she came in and exclaimed in a booming voice “masturbation is a sin!” and made us copy several biblical passages til the end of class. No explanation just that.
- I learned to embroid, cross-stitch, make cushions, knit
- They gave us cooking lessons 3 times a month
- I still do write in cursive (special notes) It’s pretty impressive -

Maybe if you channel your sexual energies into something else to keep you busy, you won’t want to do that anymore. Did you know nuns have a 0 rate of cervical cancer because virgins can’t get H.P.V.? So yeah, sex can kill you because it causes a form of cancer! Did you hear that? SEX GIVES YOU CANCER!

Definitely just for catholic schools in the US. I went to a catholic school in Asia, and only some of the above applies. We were taught cursive but were not insisted on using it. Strange though that it doesn’t mention first Friday mass and Angelus. Don’t they have those in the US?
