This, while kind of sad, is not surprising. Back during women’s suffrage movement there were tons of women who were against suffrage. Today, in Saudi Arabia for example, there are tons of women arguing to keep the oppressive guardian system. In every era there are people who would rather keep the status quo than fighting for change. And sometimes you can’t blame them — because fighting for change is not easy, and sometimes even dangerous. However, when the change actually comes, these same people would be content to enjoy the fruits of other people’s labor.
