I actually have a developers copy of windows 8 on my pc. Unless you have a touchscreen monitor it will suck. It is aimed entirely for touchscree. But then, it still seems to suck. The developers copy comes complete with ridiculous apps that microsoft thought was a good idea. Like the touchscreen piano, or other games that even a 5 year old would find mundane. Unless they step up their game and change almost everything before the official release, this will most likely be the worst thing theyve ever released.

Paula ^, I like Ubuntu a lot and even had my mother-in-law using it for a while, but as a game maker, I gotta tell you, we’re not rushing to make linux games, at least not big/pro games, anytime soon. There are 2 different graphics systems, for one, no good video drivers and that whole free angle makes it hard to break even.

It’s really just as easy to use now, if not easier (my intensely computer illiterate mother-in-law runs Ubuntu with no problems), it’s *much* more stable and secure, it has much less overhead, and it’s *FREE.*
There’s really no reason to use windows anymore unless you’re a gamer or have software that can only run on windows, which is less and less likely these days now that windows emulators are getting better and better. And really, if enough people switch that goes away as well, as it becomes cost-effective to release Linux versions of games.
