It’s never a good sign when a studio embargoes any reviews of a film until the day of release, it’s as if they fear what is going to be written and so don’t want anything out there that may taint the audience potential until the last possible moment. Well Ghost Rider: The Spirit of Vengeance (henceforth known as GRSOV) had just that embargo. Was it justified? In my opinion “not really”. I’ll be honest and say I wasn’t a fan of the first Ghost Rider (2007), a view that with a quick look on IMDB or RottenTomatoes, is clearly shared by many. Seems the original is a bit like Marmite – you either love it or hate it. But let’s not dwell on the past.
