    Rapper Slick Rick has been pardon by the governor of New York and is no longer at risk of deportation.

    The rapper, a resident alien who has lived in the United States since 1976, served time for attempted murder, making him a likely candidate for deportation. His contributions to music, community activism and the support of Governor Paterson led the Board of Immigration Appeals to decide that allowing Slick Rick to stay in the US “appears to be in the best interest of the country.”
