I thought a good (and safer) alternative to “Door Buster” specials would be:
- Release the Black Friday ads whenever
- Allow people to sign up for the items they want ahead of time.
- Friday morning, the store opens and has a “lottery” drawing to see who gets the chance to buy the items (must be present of course). This would be less barbaric, and it would also keep more people in the stores looking around. -
Walmart is so insensitive. A spokesperson stated the worker was a “was a temporary worker sent by an employment agency”. Does that make his death less significant?

“He was bum-rushed by 200 people,” said Jimmy Overby, 43, a co-worker. “They took the doors off the hinges. He was trampled and killed in front of me. They took me down too…I literally had to fight people off my back.” Ain't that the holiday spirit?
