"Cat's Cradle" by Kurt Vonnegut is absolutely brilliant. Vonnegut mixes political commentary with the most hilariously dark and dry humour that will have you laughing to yourself much to the consternation of those around you.
"Haroun and the sea of stories" by Salman Rushdie. It's promoted as a children's book but is a wonderful read for adults. Full of satire and social commentary that rings so true considering the state of world politics at the moment.
BBC3's "Life and Death Row" series one episode two details the trail of a man accused of killing eight members of his family from the perspective of the jury as well as the defence team. Such a massive miscarriage of justice. FREE GUY HEINZE!!!
Truman Capote's "In cold blood" is incredibly chilling, but Dave Cullen's "Columbine" is both brutal and heartbreaking in turns. Definately worth a read.
