I Won The Battle Against Button-Down Shirt Gapping For Under 15 Dollars

    Because buttons are the D+ students of clothing fasteners.

    There are a lot of great solutions out there keeping your button-down shirt from gapping, but they can be expensive, or require adult skills and/or money. So I tried out four solutions that easy and cheap.

    Here are the four things I tried, none of which involve sewing:

    First up was safety pins:

    Which of course was a disaster because safety pins:

    Next up was Hollywood fashion tape, which was a little hard to apply:

    Hollywood Fashion Tape held on at first, but it's a flimsy. Plus, how many things in your life do you really want that are only being held together with tape?

    Next I tried the "Pinx" pins, put them to a very very important test:

    The "Pinx" pins secure you just OK, but they won't hold up in any important punching situations. Plus, they take some time to really practice putting them into place, and who has time for practice?

    Finally, I tried out sticky back velcro, which at first felt a little preschool:

    But turned out to be A TOTAL WINNER!
