This Week’s Signature Songs, State By State

Here are the songs that defined America from Dec. 2 to Dec. 8, presented by BuzzFeed and Spotify. A state’s “signature song” is not its most popular, but its most distinctive — that is to say, the one that residents of that state streamed proportionally the most as compared with the U.S. as a whole.

For the week ending Dec. 8, rapper O.T. Genasis' viral hit "CoCo" topped the chart in Rhode Island, the Grammy-nominated Pentatonix were popular in Arkansas, Idaho and Kansas, Bebe Rexha's electro-pop anthem "I Can't Stop Drinking About You" broke through in Wisconsin while Michael Bublé's Christmas album ruled in Indiana, Oklahoma, Utah and Washington. Next Thursday, more Signature Songs from BuzzFeed and Spotify.
