Disney World Is Adding A Lot Of Magical New Stuff In 2016

We've been hearing about the first Disney World Frozen ride for a while, but now we've got a glimpse of it...

...and, tbh, it looks pretty magical. The Frozen Ever After attraction is coming to Epcot in 2016.

"The team that designed this traveled to Norway, did the same type of research as researchers from the film, and we actually brought some craftsmen back who helped us create the original Norway Pavilion," Theron Skees, executive creative director of Walt Disney Imagineering, said at a press conference on Wednesday.

Guests will be transported to the Winter in Summer Celebration, where Queen Elsa embraces her magical powers and creates a winter-in-summer day for the entire kingdom.

Frozen Ever After will be located in the Norway Pavilion at Epcot, where the Maelstrom ride is currently located. Frozen Ever After doesn't have an official launch date yet.

Disney World is making quite a few additions this year. Beginning this summer, a new fireworks show, “Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular,” will debut in Hollywood Studios.

"I remember in 1977, standing in line to see the [original Star Wars] movie, and it's a pleasure to be able to represent that in our parks," Skees said.

And over at the Animal Kingdom, the park's hours will be extended into the night, and feature a brand-new show, "Rivers of Light."

Michael Jung, the show's leading creator, described the show as an "ancient and timeless lantern celebration."

"In ancient times people believed that when animals passed from one world to another, they danced in the sky. They created these flowing rivers of light, or as we know them, the aurora borealis."

"The Tree of Life is an anchor to magically awaken the park in a unique way [at night]."

Additionally, the popular Kilimanjaro Safaris will begin running at nighttime. Joe Rohde, who designed and built Animal Kingdom, explained that the park will be "extending the sunset" and adding nocturnal animals to the safari.

"We're extending the sunset ... This has just not been technically possible until now. To do [this] is a huge technical job. It means bringing in new and different animals. We're adding South African painted dogs, we're adding hyenas — who all, by the way, have their own behaviors that they do perfectly in accordance with this natural phenomenon."

Animal Kingdom's new hours and attractions will debut on Earth Day this year, April 22.
