  • Meh, they both fizzled creatively a long, long time ago and have spent the past decade phoning it in. Both are unable or uninterested in breaking new ground or really growing as artists*, and seem perfectly happy to make films (with their best friends and wives) that homage the properties they loved when they were young, but do nothing to add to them. Aside from an ability to move the camera, a quirky haircut and about 70lbs… I struggle to see much difference in them at all. *Those that would quote Red State or Sweeney Todd as “creative second-winds” need to up their dosage.
