Harper Lee didn’t have any ambition to become a writer. She took a year off to write ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’ book only as a message to society heavily based on a case her father had dealt with when she was younger. She has since stayed out of the public eye. The only time she has come out into he public again is to give Gregory Peck her father’s pocket watch because she was impressed with his adaptation of Atticus in the film adaptation.
