Ya, my German friends usually assume many American stereotypes apply to me as well. Think if it this way, you get to educate them about your home country!
Asparagus is called Spargel in German, if anyone was wondering. Ya, I never saw white asparagus in my life until I moved to Germany. I personally find it bland and I hate hollandaise sauce that usually goes with it. Man, do Germans love it when it's Spargel season.
Hmm, maybe that grocery store was out of stock because you can buy still (tap) water everywhere. Perhaps it was hiding in the sea of sparkling water. There tends to be like two options for still water while there's 20 different options for sparkling.
Over generalizing to the max here. Pretty sure 95% of my American friends don't know what Eurovision is and I've only seen a couple things posted on my twitter about it (and I live in Germany). This article makes it sound like it's flooding twitter.
