14 Reasons What We Actually Need Is "The Princess And The Frog 2"

Almost there isn't good enough.

By now, you've heard the news that Disney has announced Frozen 2.

And well, Disney, Imma let you finish but — strolling into your Disney shareholder's meeting like, "We gonna chat about Princess and the Frog 2, don’t get it twisted!"

1. First of all, Tiana is the best damn princess in the entire Disney dynasty.

2. Because Tiana works so hard to reach her goals in the movie, we never really get to see her enjoy royal life like the other Disney princesses.

3. No seriously, she didn't get to enjoy being a princess because was A FROG for 1/3 of the movie. So why not see more of her?

4. In a sequel, the New Orleans setting would lend itself to other villains that reflect the culture of the city.

In The Princess and the Frog, they did a great job with Dr. Facilier instead of making the villain yet another "evil bitch." It went the Aladdin route and made a man the Big Bad.

5. The sequel would only have MORE iconic songs like "Almost There."

"Almost There" was nominated for Best Original Song at the 2010 Oscars and it's as classic as any other Disney Princess anthem. But it also comes SO early in the movie that there's still plenty more songs to give Tiana.

6. Seriously, Anika Noni Rose's voice is FLAW FREE, and she should be singing ALL of the Disney ballads. Give her more!

7. Instead of a poster that highlighted Disney's FIRST BLACK PRINCESS — to, I don't know, draw in black audiences — Disney hid her in shadows on the poster. A sequel, having already introduced Tiana, could put her front and center.

Put her in the spotlight and let the intended audiences know that there is a princess that looks like them on screen. Instead being surprised that audiences turn up to see films with black leads, how about we just embrace those audiences from the get-go?

8. We could finally get a Tiana who embraces her gorgeous, natural hair like the original concept art intended.

9. The supporting cast is amazing too and would help to fill out a sequel. Like Charlotte, who plays great as comic relief.

10. Tiana wins the heart of Prince Naveen in the end and we could see their love story blossom in a sequel.

11. But aside from her life as royalty, we'd also get to see her running the restaurant she worked so hard to get in the original film.

Why wouldn't we want to see THAT happily ever after in a second movie? It'd be a first for a Disney princess, instead of merely following her romantic life.

12. And while finding love is important, isn't it more important to give today's girls a princess who's also hardworking and fulfilling her careers goals?
