It's Officially Winter In Australia And There's Already A Whole Lot Of Snow

    It's the first day of winter, and for some areas in the south-east of Australia it's also the first snow day of the year.

    Overnight, pretty white snow fell in New South Wales' Snowy Mountains, Tasmania's Cradle Mountain and Victoria's Falls Creek.

    Though snow falls in these areas each season, powder this early was a welcome surprise for everyone - especially those preparing for the start of this year's ski season in Jindabyne, Thredbo and Perisher.

    Many were too excited to stay in bed.

    Others enjoyed their very first snow experience.

    And everyone else just made sure they got a perfect snap of all the white.
