Cate Blanchett Dismisses Rumours About Her Sexuality

"We’re living in deeply conservative times and if we think otherwise we’re being very foolish."

At a Cannes Film Festival press conference for her new film Carol, Cate Blanchett responded perfectly to last week's media reports about her "relationships with women".

The headlines - some of which suggested that Blanchett had came out as being bisexual - stemmed from an interview with Variety, where she answered a question as to whether she'd had relationships with women before, with "Yes, many times.".

Yesterday, Blanchett cleared up these rumours in the best way possible - by highlighting the fact that in the year 2015 the real response to her ~sexuality~ should have been "who cares?".

Blanchett went on to remind the conference that homosexuality is still considered illegal in some countries, noting "We’re living in deeply conservative times and if we think otherwise we’re being very foolish.".

Once again, Cate has proven why she is deserving of the ultimate Queen status.
