AngeloMachiavelli 9 months agoLet us be clear. These people died because of religious fanaticism, of which Muslim countries have more than their share. Fanaticism is endemic in these countries, not because the Koran promotes violence more fervently than does the Bible, but because these Muslim countries are just emerging from the Middle Ages.
Islam has no tradition of the separation of church and state. Furthermore, Muslims hold that the Koran was not merely inspired by God, but was dictated word-for-word to the Prophet. Thus there can be no modern interpretation of Islam.
It follows that Muslim countries can have no tradition of civil liberties. The mass of people in Muslim states cannot imagine that the U.S. has no government censorship apparatus to prevent its citizens from free expression. Islam is not incompatible with democracy, but it is incompatible with civil liberties. It is therefore a regrettable fact that supporting pro-democracy movements in Muslim countries is misguided and tantamount to nurturing extremism. -

gordonnappygc 9 months agoThis movie is HILARIOUSLY bad! It’s just awful. Not even about what they’re saying,but just as a MOVIE! It’s like a spoof of a movie. Some parts really made me laugh,sorry. The audio overdubbing,the bad greenscreen,the crappy acting, the ridiculous writing…then when you add in the anti-Islam message,it’s just crazy! How can anybody take this seriously? How could this possibly cost $5 million? Nobody should be offended by these idiots. It’s giving them too much credit! They don’t deserve to create any outrage,this is a cartoon fiction,hate-filled propaganda film. The ham-fisted (pun intended)”Judaism-is-great/Islam-is-bad” dialogue,the camera work,the audio work,the costumes,the actors,all the BOTTOM of the barrel. Looks like 2 guys with handycams filmed this. 2 really dumb guys.

crazy kat 9 months agoEvery body neeeds to simma down na!!! Religion really shouldn’t be this crazy, it just shouldn’t. People need to calm the hell down on both sides of the story. Not all muslims are hate filled terrorists just like all christians aren’t stupid weird creationists! Respect is something that is hard to find and give yet we should still try to find and obtain it!

I’m in the Trey Parker and Matt Stone camp in this one. Is the “movie” offensive? Yes. Does it warrant the killing of innocent people? No. Unfortunately, the extremists played right into what the “movie” promotes. And why would they let some small, obscure, hack job of movie offend them? Just like this is a very tiny sliver of extremists who are acting out, the people involved with this movie represent an equally small demographic of Americans. Pick your battles and save your anger and energy for something truly offensive like the Kardashians.
