New Star Wars Trilogy?
George Lucas may be planning a new Star Wars trilogy for 2015. The alleged trilogy would focus on events centuries after Return of the Jedi and have nothing to do with the Skywalker family. If we're lucky, maybe Lucas will make them really profound and enjoyable so that he can desecrate our happy memories of them with abysmal “prequels” once we're too old and infirm to do anything about it but weep. (Rumor denied by Lucasfilm, but via io9.)

I'm still so pissed about the second trilogy, that the only way I'd watch another Star Wars movie is if Lucas had absolutely nothing to do with it.

He always planned a trilogy of trilogies and said the last ones would have nothing to do with the Skywalker clan. I imagine it'll be more grown up since the first set is for kids, the second for adolescents and teens. GL was ripped for the prequels and denied more than 6 movies at the time but I think Avatar has inspired him like Jurassic Park did. He probably can't stand to let Avatar eclipse his movie making mojo again like Titanic did.

I kind of wanted to see the skywalker and solo family. their kids are pretty crazy. unless they do a Kyle Katarn series then that would be pretty cool, then they might introduce Mara Jade.

You know, I wouldn't mind a new Star Wars trilogy. And the expanded universe would be an interesting setting. But if George Lucas is anything more than a producer or advisor or something (not the director or writer), and if more than 50% of the special effects were made by a computer, I would avoid it like the plague. And I'm a Star Wars fan!
