What's funny is how religious folk are deemed stupid for believing what they read in the bible yet evolutionists believe whatever a scientist says. They complain about the religious being self righteous and claiming to know the truth while evolutionists post charts laughing at the countries that still believe in God.  Religion is bashed for absolutes while you preach your absolutes. Religion is laughed at for its faith and belief in what it cannot see and Darwinism is still a theory based on evolution that has not been seen itself. It relies on a fossil record that is thin and filled with gaps.  Darwinism is a faith in the purest form. Based on a theory, not provable, not witnessable with the eyes, faith based, ignorant and self righteous. Hypocrisy. We believe what we do and you believe what you do. Both of us are stubborn yet you are off the hook?

Evolution is declining in the U.S. because there is no way for it to be proven to be true. ID makes more sense and rational people are starting to see it.

im wondering why you guys are all shocked by the outcome of this. the one year i spent in the us was all about discussions about religion and evolution. and i, being totally empathetic on evolution, was always a sinner on my way to hell when bringing up arguments for it. jeeez the americans are f***g dumb and subborn in this case.

This is sad, but a poll also just came out that many more Americans are less inclined to believe in a God, so I found that encouraging…at least more people are questioning things.

“The investigation also showed that the percentage of U.S. adults who are uncertain about evolution has risen from 7 percent to 21 percent in the past 20 years.” That's actually quite good news because only someone who's mind is open to new ideas would say 'not sure' and those religious wack-a-doos would'nt acknowledge any possibility of evolution by natural selection having occured. This 21 percent are the ones who will come around, given the chance.

Ah, just realized this is a list of the “western” countries.

The chart is a little misleading. This is only 34 out of about 200 countries in the world. So, hypothetically, if this were the very top of the list of all 200-ish, the US didn't do all that bad. I think it would be very interesting to see this cross referenced with stats on the religions of each country.

Turkey, the only country lower than the US, is also the only predominantly Islamic country in that list.

The USA is mildly retarded. Makes me wonder how many Amurkens think the Earth is flat. I can't believe we're near the bottom of the list.

I'd love to see a breakdown by region in the US. I'm going go ahead and guess -excuse me, hypothesize- that the West Coast and the North East would be a little higher.
