Have you MET the internet? Fake names have been de rigueur since it started, otherwise it would be all dull real names and numbers. Complaining about it now is like suggesting food might make you hungrier.
It's getting to where I know to avoid an article because it says it knows something I don't. And it's usually the same stuff every other site says no one knows, yet is common knowledge. Seriously, cut it out.
