The laws are clarified for everyone in the New Testament.  Matthew 22: 34 Jesus said to him, ” ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.” And it’s always good to remember this one. Matthew 7: 1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.

If Christianity dropped the Old Testament the world would be a better place. The way it’s used is basically more just to cite things Jesus quoted on occasion.

On hark! Typically Christianity does not have to follow the old testament to the letter. Hence the purpose of the new testament was to change the way people think. But still I hate the way all these liberal extremists think someone is against gay marriage or abortion, that it somehow comes from the bible. Now I am not an American, so I dont understand how your marriage is fully regulated. But were I live, for the state to acknowledge gay marriage would conflict with the constitution and cost billions in tax revenue. If want people to get their nose out of your bedroom, get your nose out of their religion.
