3 Classy Ways To Get Drunk On St. Patrick's Day

Eventually you'll end up soaked in Guinness. Start the day off on a slightly more ambitious note.

Baby Guinness

MAKES 1

INGREDIENTS

2½ oz Kahlua coffee liqueur

½ oz Bailey's Irish cream

PREPARATION

Pour Kahlua, almost filling shot glass. Then, carefully and slowly pour Baileys over the back of a spoon. This will give the "Guinness" it's "head."

The Mossy

Recipe by Imen McDonnell

MAKES 1

INGREDIENTS

½ oz clove syrup (recipe below)

2½ oz Guinness Stout

1 oz Irish peated single-malt whiskey such as Connemara

PREPARATION

Make the clove syrup by dissolving 1 cup of sugar with one cup of water with 15 whole cloves over high heat. Allow to cool completely.

Pour ½ oz of clove syrup into a cocktail shaker filled with ice cubes. (In the photos in the post we used a jam jar instead of a cocktail shaker.) Add Guinness and whiskey to shaker. Shake for 10 seconds. Strain into a chilled cocktail, coupe, or martini glass.
