And secondly, 99% of people with a speck of humanity wouldn't dream of turning a blind eye to animal suffering, that is absurd. But more to the point, there is certainly no way for me to help this particular animal and that is why this video is wholly gratuitous. Whaling, dolphin hunts in Japan, and mass hunting of seals with clubs, those are operations for profit that can be stopped or at least interfered with, but random acts of brutality are unpreventable and the repeated viewing of them does nothing but make people feel sick until they can somehow forget the image.  You realize you just told people that didn't want to watch this that they are blind to animal cruelty. Um, no.

No…assistance?! They're not sure the animal is hurt!? Why is it that some people think that animals do not feel pain? They seem to handle it better than some humans can but it doesn't mean they don't feel pain. That animal is clearly in distress and nothing is being done. I hate people sometimes, seriously.

this is the kind of thing that needs to be brought to people's attention. If you read the header for the video, then why would you complain about the contents of the video? You choose to watch it knowing what happens. But now that you know, you can help these things from continuing to happen and instead of blindly ignoring these things.

To all my “don't live in a bubble, life is ugly might as well know it” friends. I agree with you that having no exposure to the tragedy in life would be in itself a tragedy. But, the human body has a stress response to seeing ugliness in life, videotaped or real it's pretty much the same reaction, and the constant availability of videos like this has gotten people colossally out of balance with the ugliness that they used to be exposed to. Disasters, starvation, murder, rape, and animal cruelty from every corner of the videotaped planet is constantly available to our brains at a seconds notice but we can affect NO POSITIVE RESPONSE to 99.999% of it……. so I'll pass on the seal video thank you. Keep this trash off of buzzfeed, the shooter may now have a perverse sense of his own importance with his inclusion in the “surging on the internet” world…. I bet he's lovin it.
