Humo Magazine's shamefully offensive ad reminds us that the most tragic event in our nation's recent history is but weeks away! Most nauseating ad for a magazine ever? Mission accomplished.
I suppose it isn't the worst thing. I'm not offended, just think it's extremely not tasteful to attempt to capitalize on murders. I mean, would you want to see a natural gas company use concentration camps as a theme for advertisements? What about Incan or Aztec themes for a corporation introducing a new vaccine? Seems like a tabloid thing to do.
We wellcome all your comments on a page we set up following your publication. You find it on Humo's The Wild Site. The Humo Webteam.
I don't mean to minimize the pain and loss of the victims at 9/11 but u americans are just shocked coz this time the gun was pointing your way, when u r used to hold it without caring for anyone. USA grow up and face the fact that u mess it sometimes and those times built up to get u 9/11… be more caring and wiser next time u have GWBush or someone like him aspiring for leadership.
Hmm, the mag is Belgian, so they're just mocking America as our media does to so many others. For instance, the Simpsons line about how a Belgian admits that he should be trusted as much as one can trust the word of a Belgian. Or how at Burning Man one year, a Belgian crew was mocked for their huge but pointless artwork which everyone just called “the Waffle”. Granted, Belgian bating goes back at least as far as Monty Python's “I can't think of anything more insulting (to call someone) than Belgian!” It's like a class clown, when your peers (kids or countries) only know you from your immature outbursts, better bad attention than none.
Don't forget media whore Glenn Beck's “9/12” crap that he started to cash in on.
Everyone needs to lie back and chill. you don't like, it don't buy the product. so many people think there should be someone out there protecting them from being offended. There isn't. so look away, and move on. -Aaron, from NYC
God. It's still waaaaay “too soon” for an ad like this to fly. Though I've seen much worse on the interwebs. This is tame considered to much of what I've seen.
The ad did it's job didn't it? I mean it got everyone's attention. I, for one, had never heard of hugo magazine, but now i know what it is.
Negative press is still press.
If you want this to go away all you have to do is treat it like the shit it is and throw it away. Never talk about and just ignore it.
Oh man…there's more.
Not as offensive as the 500,000 Iraqis that were killed, tortured and raped by Americans for absolutley no valid reason whatsoever. The world doesn't revolve around you stupid Americans.

Oh yeah…there was one more.
That the then president, Bush junior, in his infinite idiocy, decided to leave bin laden alone ….

near as I could tell, the only humor involved with this incident is the insane scramble afterwards to find heroes (and, reluctant heroes at that) and the establishing an even taller building in their place.
Not funny
I like this because it has offended you people.
Then there's this one…
Bummer post. Tasteless.
you stay classy, humo.
OLD. ZZZZZZZZZZ
Godammit…can I read ONE thing about 9/11 without some retarded conspiracy theorist spouting the same old “facts”?!?! Back that shit up with some concrete sources and maybe you'll start to convince me that the most incompetent administration in America's history, led by a man who is a colossal idiot organized the greatest cover-up in all of history. Idiots…
Poor Jean-Claude Van Damme's gonna have a rough week as the only Belgian in blame-heaping proximity. (We're too obese to blame waffles.)
