Even more reason to boycott the Superbowl on CBS and watch THE PUPPY BOWL!!

That was offensive. Not because of the subject matter, but because it was so poorly done and completely devoid of humor. And there's no way a company with a $10k production budget is going to shell out $2.5m for air time. This is nothing more than a poorly executed PR stunt. If they're going to create a fake stink about their snubbed ad, the ad in question had better be funny/controversial/shocking enough to reward its viewers. This falls flat.

I think this is a bunch of BS. This “commercial” is so poorly done, low budget and pathetic I can't believe they had the money to buy superbowl space. I smell a marketing stunt.

Two dudes kissing is fine in my book, but if you look, they aren't even really kissing. It's like an SNL skit, which is really just a cue to the testosterone-pumped morons watching to make a gay joke. I'd like to see a Superbowl commercial from the NOH8Campaign.

The superbowl is already gay with all the ass-patting they do on the field. A bunch of gun-shy queens at CBS.

Okay I'll be the one to say it. That was kind of weird and gross, not because of the kissing but because it seemed like an act of violence. It reinforces the gay stereotypes that gay men can't control themselves and that they're constantly seething with pent-up sexual aggression and that all gay sex is rough and violent. PLUS, the dude at the end looks a little shaken (which is understandable considering what's playing out in front of him, but would unfailingly be interpreted as disgust by any fundies and/or rednecks watching).

CBS has had the cultural dunce hat on ever since the days of All in the Family and M*A*S*H, so this should not come as any surprise. Ten-to-one that at least a couple CBS executives are exasperated that they're getting flak for decisions like this, while no one even bothers to praise them for airing non-sports shows featuring colored folks.

Arguably, pregnant women considering abortion and gay men seeking a relationship aren't at all key Super Bowl demographics, so why either company would want to spend millions of dollars for a 30 second spot seems pretty bizarre.  What on earth is CBS' line of thinking here? The only conceivable explanation I can think of is that they're hoping fathers-to-be will beat their wives/girlfriends into having babies when they don't want to, and encourage current fathers to disown their gay sons. I'm just saying.

Okay how about two boy babies kissing in front of a poster about contraception? That's like a triple win, right?

Maybe we could talk the pro-life people into having Tim Tebow make out with a dude during their commercial?

Once again I feel compelled to say: Fuck you, CBS.
