As if Marvel needed another hype boost before Comic-Con this month, they just announced exclusively through Entertainment Weekly that Jean Grey will return to the X-Men.
Marvel confirms to EW:
We can only confirm that her presence in the Marvel universe will not be imaginary. This will not be part of the Ultimate line-up. She will not be a zombie hologram, like Shard on X-Factor.
Jean Grey has been perma-dead since Grant Morrison wrote her off in New X-Men Omnibus back in 2006. Of course prior to this last death, Jean Grey had been killed off over a dozen times, so her reappearance just confirms that what is dead may never die.
However, her wearing the vintage Marvel Girl costume from way, waaaay back in the day could cause a few raised eyebrows.
