Is anyone else weirded out by the pointer hand having painted fingernails?

every few years some japanese scientist finds some way to make raw sewage into food. It makes the news rounds but doesn't catch on? (I wonder why?) What i don't get is why this isn't filed under the “science of long-duration space travel” and they don't stop trying to make this into a consumer product every few years, when the people of earth are clearly not that desperate (yet).

This has to be from Japan's equivalent of The Onion.

I actually think it's a good idea. The water we drink from the tap have been inside people around 14 times before it reaches our mouth so what's the difference? It's not like we're eating raw poop here. In the future I imagine people recycling their food so what's so absurd about it? I imagine that people reacted the same when they discovered water filtration but now it's become the norm. Of course in the back of your mind you're thinking “this is someone's shit” but it'll become normal after a while. However if it's the same price as meat, I'm choosing the meat.

If its projected potential price is roughly the same of that of real meat, Ceteris paribus, why not just get real meat?

Next thing you know German scientists will figure out that by sewing people together mouth to asshole feeding one person will in turn feed many people—solving the food crisis AND making humans useful for something.
