  The Wire is in a hole different ball park than either Breaking Bad or The Walking Dead. And The Walking Dead isn’t even in the same ball park as Breaking Bad, for that matter. David Simon is fantastic. The thematic scope of The Wire has yet to be topped.

I love Breaking Bad. Though I’m probably biased since I’m from Albuquerque. It’s not often that knowledge of where a tv show is set actually improves the experience. They use real references and locations within Abq. The Wire was kind of…meh. Omar Little was the main highlight.

Breaking Bad is miserable. Sorry I’m not sorry, but that writing is so contrived and lackluster and I don’t find any of the characters believable or natural. The Wire was fantastic though.
