“Man On the Moon Monster”?
“Man On the Moon Monster”?
My sister used to tease me because one summer I went to camp in Boston and came back calling it Soda…still do. Went to college in NY, and called it Soda once more, even when I was trying to maintain solidarity with the fellow midwesterners. And now I kind of want to start calling it pop again…for old time’s sake. Also Garrison Keillor was the voice of my childhood, the once boring and now iconic voice of my childhood. He does however possess a face for radio and to me never sounds like he looks. If that makes any sense.
“Hurt” By Johnny Cash v. NIN. Basically any cover he made in his later years. I mean he reinvented those songs. Arguably they are different songs altogether but they are really great. “Personal Jesus”, “Hung My Head”, they all could fall in to that category.
Lest we disregard all of the covers that have men on them. And the respectful way many of the articles portray women, not as objects but as beautiful people, who are also respected for their accomplishments, and life stories. And we also must disregard all of the women’s magazines who objectify men. Until we wake up and acknowledge that sexuality isn’t something to be shunned, and that everyone takes part in this (so called) “objectification” we will consistently overlook the things that truly do objectify and discredit men and women of their humanity and potential. Gender and sexuality are not so polarizing as to only affect one of many categories. This jump to turn sexual attraction and admiration into something flat-out sexist needs to be examined.
It is worrisome to think of what would happen if the government ever really did fight these groups of survivalists and supposed defenders of freedom. It would end very quickly with a whole bunch of ill-trained and ill-equipped citizens facing one of the most powerful militaries in the world. Nobody seems to figure that into the equation.
I go by the simple rules as follows. There are a handful of people you just shouldn’t mess with. The people who serve you shit, clean your shit, and sell you shit. They know valuable information, and get paid nothing so you are deserving if they spit on your food, etc, steal your things, or know your credit card info/spending habits. The likelihood that anyone in the service industry will do you harm is low, but wow you just lowered the bar, so don’t always expect that the “higher than thou” attitude won’t end in you getting botulism.
“Awesome” says 7 year-old me. “Gross I feel sick” says 7 year-old me about a half hour later. “That makes me uncomfortable” says current me. I mean…it is candy and that’s just great but? I don’t know. Maybe it’s because they call it a salad.
Eww that’s Dayna Devon from Extra!
Heroes* Villains* Heros sounds like a greek god, and Villians sounds like the antagonist in a Vaudeville act.
I don’t see ideology here. Nope. None, well unless you count the parts where words are formed and voices speak.
Because secession worked out realllllly well last time.
This is unsettling for the couples who vary so much in size.
It just HAD to be Minnesota. I have never seen cuter or nicer-looking people to fundamentally disagree with.
I don’t usually do this but the word you are looking for is “threw”.
“HAHAHA racial insensitivity and ignorance are so funny!!!! HAHA, so is making light of domestic violence!!!! HAHAHA”- Said nobody who deserves to breath the same air as any upstanding human being.
racing water droplets across the windows during a light rain, or after leaving a car-wash. BEST GAME EVER!
Brunel is in just about every history book I’ve seen. He’s in the chapter about The Industrial Revolution.
“Pray for rain” is often a figure of speech. It’s kind of something you just say, whether you are literally praying or not. I’d say THAT is the secularization of America right there. Kind of like Oh my God! (see* OMG) being more akin to “Wow that’s crazy” rather than ” Oh my omnipotent lord yahweh, allah, GOD etc.” Just positing that, not sure how relevant. Makes you think. Jello=Gelatine Dessert, scotch-tape=translucent adhesive tape. Figures of speech. Which I’m sure I just made some kind of lingual mistake. Deal with it world. We are humans, we are flawed.
I mean to be fair, and logical. Englishmen have had girlfriends since 1936 but they haven’t had a Wimbledon Title…that’s rough. That’s home soil.
Let’s just clarify. Instead of writing a biography or a novel about the President he writes a book to fact-check against a memoir written 13 years before the President ran for President, and 19 years ago. “Dreams for my Father” was one of the most inspirational stories I have read, but I like everyone should know that memoirs are inherently stories not unlike tales from the fishing trip, meaning they can be exaggerated and sometimes completely fabricated because that is how the mind works. I challenge anyone out there to write a book that can’t possibly be contradicted. It honestly won’t work that way. We have learned that from (yes Stephen Fry) as well as David Sedaris, Augusten Burroughs, and numerous other memoirists who have admitted to some fictionalization for the purpose of selling a book. Everyone does it. My point was not that it was wrong to write a book about the President, nor is it wrong per se to lie in history books, all of them being based on theoretical hearsay and blatant biases, since only so many things can indeed be proven. No I thought it was just sort of lame to write a book to discredit another book, and rather juvenile. There was never really a public argument about how Obama felt as a young man, nor can we truly read the mind of any man. Maybe it’s all that public school that I experienced, but a man does not need to be hosed down in Birmingham, or lynched in order to experience racism. Nobody can read the mind of another. All of these books just line the shelves alongside other circular arguments. There will always be disagreement about a political figure, if anything we should be arguing about “The Audacity of Hope” which came later in Obama’s political life, and perhaps presents more valid information for any book written during the tenure of said President. And can we please type out President of The United States instead of these Secret Service codes. Our culture is losing enough content through Lol’ing and OMFG’s here and there. It just weakens public discourse. Let’s talk about how Obama still hasn’t used executive orders to legalize Gay Marriage, something that goes against states rights, which Obama discusses in “The Audacity of Hope” where he speaks of the power of Congress being greater than that of the President and that said powers must be understood as such. Congress would first need states to agree, one by one before it would be fair to amend anything…which is beside the point. Attack a man’s politics as he is in office, that is to be expected. America is great because of that. Looking into a man’s past while he is running is great. That is to be expected though in this world of Facebook, none of the current generation will be able to be infallible and we will all soon understand the humility of humanity. Looking into a man’s past while he is already in office is only valid if there are any impeachable offenses. Those cannot be found in looking into information only as fresh as 17 years, give or take edits and delays in final printing, and you can have nearly 20 years of space in which new things might come up. My point is simply that we need to understand our place in history if we keep shooting dead horses. -End of rant.
