The First Clip From The "Doctor Who" 50th Anniversary Has Arrived

A teaser clip for The Day Of The Doctor has been posted on the official BBC site.

Things to note: we know that Joanna Page is playing Queen Elizabeth I, but what are her credentials? Is that citadel in the painting supposed to be Gallifrey? At first we thought that might be River's voice, but it isn't. The first full trailer airs at 8pm on BBC tomorrow (November 9).

This is the story synopsis.

In 2013, something terrible is awakening in London's National Gallery; in 1562, a murderous plot is afoot in Elizabethan England; and somewhere in space an ancient battle reaches its devastating conclusion. All of reality is at stake as the Doctor's own dangerous past comes back to haunt him.
