Michael Keaton Just Proved Once And For All That He's Batman

There are other batmen, but there's only one goddamn Batman.

Michael Keaton spoke to Shortlist this week about the release of his new film, Birdman, in which he plays a washed up star trying to direct a play.

The actor played the Caped Crusader in Tim Burton's Batman (1989), and Batman Returns (1992), and reportedly turned down "an insane amount of money" to make a third film.

Referring to Christian Bale, who recently said he felt "jealous of someone else playing Batman", the interviewer asked Keaton "if he ever gets that."

Keaton replied: "No. Do you know why? Because I’m Batman. I’m very secure in that."
