Carl’s Jr. New Soft Porn Commercial

This amazingly base spot hits the slobbering bro target audience like a hammer in the groin.

I know I’m going to get crap for this review, but I give zero shits.

The ad agency, 72andSunny, is known as a “creative” shop. Which is funny because this spot features zero creativity. It is an embarrassment to the ad industry, which is already a pretty embarrassing industry these days.

Apparently, no modern American agencies are capable of executing a sexy and intelligent ad. Is it really that difficult? Let me tell you from 20 years experience in this business that it is not.

It’s unacceptable laziness. It’s advertising to the lowest common denominator. Bill Bernbach would have you sent you idiot creatives back to your rooms.

Another possibility of course is that the client dictated the creative to the agency. Carl’s parent company CKE Restaurants just switched ad agencies last December. And you may remember the previous cerebral Paris Hilton, Kim Kardashian, and Kate Upton commercials (look them up yourself).

The women with their ass cheeks sticking out of their shorts are Playboy Playmate Sara Jean Underwood and actress/model Emily Ratajkowski.
