If you were anything like me while watching Grease: Live, you were probably wondering how the show was able to switch between all those camera angles so flawlessly.
Well, the assistant director of the hit show uploaded a video to her Facebook page of the control room during the broadcast, and by the sound of her rapidly calling out random numbers and words, it seems like it was an insanely STRESSFUL job.
To put the fast-paced madness into perspective, a YouTube user synced the live performance of "Greased Lightnin'" with the control room footage into a mesmerizing split-screened video. HERE IT IS, BUT TRY NOT TO HAVE A PANIC ATTACK:
In the original Facebook post of the control room footage, the assistant director explains how it was her job to keep the show in sync with the cameras, which probably explains why she was boppin' her head to the music:
Every shot in the show was designed and scripted by our director Alex Rudzinski. My job was to execute that plan. You hear me calling shot numbers and camera moves carefully coordinated with the music.
