Britney Spears Just Shut Down A Fan On Instagram — Or Did She?

Help solve this mysterney.

Alright Internet truthers — WE NEED YOUR HELP TO FIGURE OUT A GODNEY SPEARS MYSTERY. But before we start this very gay third season of Serial, you need to know the backstory.

Britney Spears took to Twitter to RSVP her attendance to the 2016 People's Choice Awards only ONE WEEK PRIOR to the award show. Therefore, EVERYONE freaked out because when Britney Spears attends an award show, IT'S A GLOBAL EVENT.

However, when the show day arrived, Britney DID NOT make an appearance and everyone was like "WHAT THE FUCKNEY?"

So then the next day came, and Britney informed us she was feeling a little sick in an Instagram post, which is why she couldn't attend. AND THAT'S TOTALLY ACCEPTABLE AND WE WERE GOING TO LET IT ALL GO.

However some fans just weren't having it. Which brings us to the present — WHY I ASKED YOU ALL HERE TODAY.

At 12:40 a.m., an Exhale user (a forum dedicated solely to Britney Spears news) received a direct message on Instagram from THE BRITNEY SPEARS.

The user, BottomHeart (lmao same), was one of the fans who weren't too happy with Britney skipping out on the award show. So, BottomHeart made a questionable move and DMed our queen on Instagram to seek some answers.

And her alleged response WAS NOTHING SHORT OF SOME HOT BOILING TEA.

YES — BRITNEY STRIPPED BOTTOMHEART OF THEIR STAN CARD AND DISHONORABLY DISCHARGED THEM FROM THE BRITNEY ARMY.

Although this would be nothing short of amazing if Britney DID drag a questionable fan, there's one lingering question — IS THIS REAL? It is the Internet, after all, and people will do almost anything for some attention.

With further analyzation of the alleged DM convo, our suspicions of the legitimacy were further raised when we noticed a faint little line in one of the screenshots that shouldn't be there...

Hmmmm....

HOWEVER, unwavering from allegations the alleged DM was actually photoshopped, BottomHeart uploaded a video of when they first received the messaged, and then proceeding to scroll through conversation. And it looks LEGIT.

We all know Britney has recently taken full control over her Instagram within the past year, so the idea of her DMing a fan accusing her of not caring about her career doesn't seem too far fetched.
