He went on to beat Smokey's (another British cat) World Record.
His owner, Tracy, told Guinness World Records, "When you’re watching films you have to turn the telly up or put him out of the room, if he’s eating he’ll purr loudly. I can hear him when I’m drying my hair."
So next time you think your air conditioner is acting up, it might just be Merlin chillin' in your house.
