I recognize SOOO many of these. Before my mom finished her degree at got a job (not in my district, whew!) she subbed. When she was my sub she would never tell me so I’d walk in the room and get surprised, make me call her Mrs. all day, and wouldn’t give me a ride home. I still had to ride the bus to and from school, which was a 40 minute ride instead of a 15 minute one. But I did love grading papers because she’d let me use her cool teacher pen that had a blue ink point on one end and a red ink point on the other instead of an eraser.

The fist bump derivative of the high five started in baseball. Moises Alou didn’t wear batting gloves and instead followed an old folk’s tale that supposedly toughens the skin on his hands — he would pee on them. His teammates understandably didn’t want to high five Alou and instead started fist bumping him instead.
