Godot came from left field

I was quite shocked Bill Sykes (my vote for most despicable Dickens character) the Countess de Winter of THE THREE MUSKETEERS and her god awful son of TWENTY YEARS LATER and for God's sakes, Dracula didn't make it on the list. As far as reviled protagonists are concerned, am I alone in hating Raskolnikov in CRIME AND PUNISHMENT? There's others but had to mention these five.

I really have to raise an eyebrow at #1. I mean, I hate those books and their characters as much as the next sane person, but the most hated characters is ALL of Literary History? REALLY!?
